Petra Kouzina was born out of a desire to make visitors feel local, live as locals and enjoy signature Greek island living through a culinary experience. Our intention is to share knowledge and culture by means of food, to invite our guests to meet new, amazingly diverse people, and become part of our warm hospitality in our traditional home.
Petra Kouzina is a social endeavor, bringing people together and uniting them in their love of creating good food. Through a simple, authentic and original idea, guests are invited to take part in the experience of cooking, sharing and tasting traditional yet delicious Greek food in an innovative, lively and extremely fun environment.
“We invite you to experience the joy of cooking Greek food in our home, with us, as our special guest. Join us in Petra Kouzina.”
Petra Kouzina is located on the Greek paradise where we met. It is Santorini where we decided to pursue our dream, build our home and start our family. A paradise that has so much to offer that we feel a responsibility to share it with others and we are doing it through a unique culinary experience.
Santorini is the most popular island in Greece and one of the most attractive islands in the world. There are few travel destinations that combine spectacular scenery, fascinating history, beautiful beaches, ancient cities, incredible wine, delightful gastronomy and an active volcano. Santorini has this and more.
“Santorini has already made a name for itself in the world of taste and is considered a unique gastronomic destination which offers some of the country’s best restaurants, wineries and taverns”
Megalochori is one of the most picturesque villages on the island, home to historical mansions, old cave houses, pirate hideaways and wine ‘canavas’. This traditional village lies on a hill creating a labyrinth of alleys and streets. The vineyards that extend beyond the countryside offer a magnificent and top quality wine. A great effort is been made by local residents and businessmen to preserve the characteristics and beauty of this traditional settlement. Many of the original houses that had fallen into disrepair, have been restored to their former glory. Petra Kouzina is one of them, we have restored a Cave House of 1950, maintaining its original structure within the rock to create a unique space.
